[Ingénieur CDD] Analyste NGS
The selected candidate will contribute to a project on drought stress evaluation of banana, in collaboration with the University of Leuven, and will bring expertise in the area of NGS data curation and genotyping analysis. The selected candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including experienced scientists in genetics, genomics, bioinformatics and computer science to analyze NGS DNA-seq and RNA-seq data in order to study polymorphisms and variants in banana
More specifically:
• Contribute to the analyses of banana germplasm including genotyped by GBS (Genotyping by Sequencing);
• Perform SNP calling for polyploid accessions
• Perform, manipulate, filter SNP datasets and study chromosomal distribution, amino effect changes;
• Contribute in the storage of the genotyping data in a Chado database
• Contribute to the identification of A and B genome specific alleles in the Musa genus.
Essential qualifications & competencies:
• A university degree in computer sciences or bioinformatics.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience including experience working on NGS data analyses.
• Experience in data management with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL.
• Working knowledge of relevant software tools and formats (Samtools, GATK, Fastq, BAM, VCFtools, Hapmap etc…)
• Working knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
Desirable competencies and qualifications:
• Working knowledge of high-performance computing system (previous experience with SGE is a plus).
• Working knowledge of French.
• Experience with polyploid organisms.
